"I still hold that it is the main earthly business of a human being to make his home...
as symbolic and significant to his own imagination as he can;
whether the home be in Notting Hill or Nicaragua, in Palestine or in Pittsburgh."-G.K.Chesterton, "The Artistic Side"

February 9 Meeting of the WPA Chesterton Society

Greetings WPA Chestertonians,

We will meet this Friday, February 9, 2018 for the beginning of G.K. Chesterton's biography of St. Thomas Aquinas, "The Dumb Ox".
We will discuss the introductory remarks and then read together the first chapter, "On Two Friars".

Before coming to the meeting you might find the following two videos interesting to watch.
 Here is a short YouTube video overview about St. Thomas Aquinas, or as Chesterton called him "Thomas of the Creator".
Here is another short YouTube video about St. Thomas, this one by Bishop Robert Barron.

The Middle Lancaster Community Center is undergoing renovation and is not available for us to use, so we will meet around the dining room table at my house, just north of the Community Center, off of Rt. 19. (Email/text or call me if you need an address or further directions.) Please bring a contribution to the refreshment table, and come anytime after 7:00PM. We will begin our discussion at 7:30PM, and finish up around 9:30PM

**PLEASE NOTE: The weather forecast for Friday looks seasonably questionable. I will cancel by 5:00PM on Friday if the weather is such that travel would not be prudent. Please check your computer (at this site, or on Facebook) before you leave home for the meeting, to make sure the meeting has not been canceled. If you let me know ahead that you are planning to attend, I will send you an email if the meeting is canceled. **
